Using No-Code tools to build a cost-effective, self-managed website
In this fourth of five, once-a-week workshops we will cover everything you need to be able to build yourself a website using the latest no-code tools. We will look at the basics of web development and web design, and then take a deeper dive into the tools you can use without any code or web design experience. From a basic one-page to a more complex multi-page site we will work through what you will need building on the learning from previous weeks.
The first part of the session will look at:
- A brief history of the web
- Domain names and hosting
- Understanding responsive web design
Once you have grasped these basic concepts we will spend time looking at a number of no-code web design tools that you can use to build your site. In particular we will look at:
- Carrd
- Squarespace
We will also look briefly at the more advanced “Webflow” as well as mention a number of alternatives that exist. Finally we will touch on options for e-Commerce and other integrations you could consider.
You should be able to leave this session with everything you need to build a website for your project, organisation or programme.
This is the fourth session in a 5 week course "Build a Website or App Without Code" and can be attended on its own, but we advise joining the five-week course.
This event is part of the Digital Pathfinders programme and funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority which means only organisations and businesses from Newcastle, Northumberland or North Tyneside are able to attend.
This course is run in conjunction with the No-Code Incubator - a space for learning No-Code in the North East.
