About Eco Steam

My husband, Temur, and I had the idea for EcoSteam when we moved back to my home region of the North East after both living and working in Kuala Lumpur. We discovered that Temur had an allergy to European dust mites, which are very prevalent in British homes due to the use of rugs and soft furnishings.

We started looking into cleaning solutions that would be sustainable and avoid harsh chemicals, and soon discovered steam cleaning. We launched EcoSteam in 2020, right in the midst of the COVID pandemic, and soon won over clients with our eco-friendly approach and immaculate results.

About the Support

We were a team of two at the start, juggling running the business with looking after our young children. We knew that we wanted to do much more marketing, but at the time we didn’t have the time or resources. That’s where Digital Pathfinders came in.

The team at Digital Pathfinders talked us through where we were in our business journey and what processes we had in place. They helped us to identify what our need was to really grow the business. For example, we were keen to launch an app that would allow our customers to book with us at the click of a button. This would help to automate our business, free up our time, and make our services more accessible to our clients.

Digital Pathfinders helped us wireframe what we wanted and collaborated with us to make sure we had a really clear brief. They documented everything so that it could be handed to a designer, and I’m pleased to see that the app is now at testing stage.

They understood our business and our requirements to a T, and this took a huge weight off our shoulders, so we could focus on really growing EcoSteam. The advice and guidance that Digital Pathfinders gave has been so important to us.

We now have a team of four, and are looking into potentially franchising the business. My advice to any businesses looking for this support would be to reach out to Digital Pathfinders, ask as many questions as possible, and make the most of the advice available.

"From the very beginning of our business journey, the support we’ve received here in the North East has been incredible. Despite being from the region myself, I never realised what a wealth of resources there are out there for businesses wanting to grow."
